Avoiding barrel droop — our engineering
Barrel droop is eliminated by geometry and clamp design. Our 1 7/8" tenon, indexing flat, clamping V and clamping flat locate the barrel axially and rotationally, then clamp it with two 1/8" hex bolts to produce a rigid, repeatable interface. The step from .920" ? .870" is machined cleanly so the shoulder sits flush against the receiver (no ramp). This controlled fit prevents the “teeter-totter” effect and long-term sag — when correctly seated, v-block screws need only be snug (~10 in-lb) to hold alignment.
Installation & break-in tips
• Prep: Remove paint/debris from the receiver mortise before install. • Align: Line up the indexing flat so the extractor cut times correctly. • Seat: Insert the barrel, snug the two 1/8" hex bolts evenly until the barrel is firmly seated. • Torque: Aim for even, snug seating rather than high torque; v-blocks should be ~10 in-lb when used. • Break-in: Run two magazines through before evaluating groups; repeat after switching ammunition. • Cleaning: Keep the chamber clean; avoid excessive bore scrubbing — typical bore-clean interval ~500 rounds (varies by ammo). • Threads: If fitted with 1/2"-28, keep the protective cap on until mounting a device.
