What makes it special

Compact bull performance: Full .920" bull contour in a 6" pistol package gives Charger™ owners the stiffness and harmonic control of a bull barrel without a rifle-length profile.
Hand-finished: Lothar Walther boring and Kidd final machining for tighter tolerances and a showroom-quality surface.

Fitment & avoiding barrel droop

Barrel droop is caused by an insecure or inconsistent tenon/shoulder fit. We eliminate droop with:

A precise fit between tenon and receiver, with a consistent diameter along the tenon length.
A precisely machined shoulder with a relief cut to allow the shoulder to seat flush against the receiver providing full support.

When properly fitted, v-block screws only need to be snug (~10 in-lb) — tight enough to prevent forward movement without distorting alignment.

Installation tips

If using another brand of receiver clean paint/build-up from the receiver mortise before installing.
Apply a light coat of grease to the tenon to ease installation—use sparingly.
Begin inserting the tenon while aligning the extractor slot. Tap the rear of the receiver with your palm; if resistance increases, use a rubber mallet to fully seat.
Recheck extractor alignment by matching the level of the receiver’s bottom flat with the barrel’s v-block cutout.
Run two magazines through the barrel before evaluating groups, and repeat when changing ammunition brands.
Keep the chamber clean but avoid over-cleaning the bore—excessive cleaning can reduce accuracy. Typical bore cleaning interval~ every 500 rounds, depending on ammo

Can’t go wrong with Kidd. For top tier quality in the 10/22 world there is no better. This is on a BRN-22 SBR and the barrel and receiver had very good fit. Only have 50 rounds through it. Zeroing and plinking. CCI SV shot fine, no malfunctions that I can recall. I’m sure groups will tighten up with some match ammo but they weren’t bad. . Custom 10/22 parts are everywhere…. I’ve shot and own several other high end 10/22 builds. Without a doubt, top to bottom, Kidd is always my first choice. Thanks for all the quality.

Great barrel, used in my binary set up and just dumped mag after mag with no issues. Strongly recommend it if using a charger receiver.

Q: Hi There, two questions for you: 1. I assume this barrel will fit into a ruger 1022 charger factory receiver. Any suggestions to ensure a good fit and smooth installation? 2.Can I use the ruger factory vblock with this barrel, or do I need to purchase the KIDD vblock?

A: Yes, you can install this barrel on the factory receiver. I recommend watching our barrel installation video to help with the install. Using a KIDD V-Block is not necessary.

A: This barrel will work with your factory receiver. However the stock will need to be changed out for a .920 bull barrel stock.

Q: I waited my 9 months to get a tax stamp and create a SBR with my 10/22; NFA rules! Will the KIDD .22 6" pistol barrel drop in to a std 10/22 receiver? I have been using an 8" barrel with a suppressor; will a 6" barrel be noticeably quieter? Thank you for your assistance, Tom Slayton

A: Yes, the KIDD barrel will fit into the receiver. The difference in noise won't change much from the 2 inches lost.
