Q: Fixing to buy a Supergrade Premium. 2 questions. 1. What length is the HEAVY STAINLESS BULL barrel? 2. Will eventually use Eley ammo. If I start out with CI mini mags, won’t the barrel copper up and possibly cause accuracy issues? Or should I just start with the Eley and how many rounds should I shoot before I try lot testing?

Asked by: Doc Jones - 6/7/2024
A: Hi Doc,
Thank you for your interest in our SG Premium. The --Heavy Stainless Bull-- is a heading for a category of non fluted stainless steel barrels that come in polished or bead blasted, threaded or non-threaded, 20", 18", or 16.5" length. It will make more sense when you click on the drop-down link and see all the barrels that are offered.
CCI vs Eley, I understand with the cost of ammo that you may not want to practice with Eley all the time. After cleaning or when switching ammo run about 40 rounds through it to get the fouling process started so that your groups tighten. -Good shooting!

Q: Your FAQ suggests Leopoldo freedom is a good scope for this rifle. Do you have mounting rings and bases recommendation for attaching to the 0 moa picatinny rail, as Leupold doesn’t list Kidd as a manufacturer.? For sling mounting, do I just need to buy magpul sling studs for the Hunter stock? Thanks!

Asked by: Craig - 3/29/2024
A: Hi Craig,
We use low rings for our Leupold VX-11, 6-18x 40mm. For slings on the Hunter you need the Type1 mounts for the sling studs to attach.
-Good shooting!

Q: a couple quick questions.... does threading reduce accuracy? I'll use for squirrel hunting and haven't used a 2 stage trigger. Is the 2 stage a better option for hunting?? Any recommendations on scopes? My shots are usually between 10-40 yards. How many magazines come with the rifle? Thanks!

Asked by: Chris Havice - 9/7/2022
A: Threading can reduce accuracy however if you are squirrel hunting it will be okay to thread your barrel. I would focus more on where you want the weight and you may need to thread your barrel if you are running a suppressor. All KIDD Supergrade Barrels are guaranteed to shoot 1/2 inch at 50 yards. We recommend the Leopold Freedom scope. Good Shooting-Shalee

Q: Hi l have one of your super grade rifles , it’s one of the most accurate rifles I ever owned. My question I would like to build one with a 2 stage trigger and a heavy barrel version.Mine is a light barrel with a single stage trigger. This would be a bench gun. Can I order it with a Victor Titan stock instead of the Magpul ? Thanks Frank

Asked by: Frank - 6/27/2022
A: Hi Frank,

I am sorry but we only offer our complete builds on the MagPul stock. You can however purchase the complete barreled action which will allow you to drop it into a stock of your choice.

Good Shooting-Shalee

Q: Sir, I can't seem to find a post from someone who have purchased a KIDD .22LR Supergrade from California. But since it's a rimfire, I'm assuming it is California Compliant. Please excuse me for asking but our State is known to be "blank" when it comes to 2A. Sometimes it's so confusing and complicated. My 2nd question is.... (before I pull the trigger for a custom build) Is it possible to have it made on a KRG stock? If not, do you offer a service to have a KRG stock fitted if I send you one in the future? Thank you very much, and have a great day!

Asked by: Joey - 6/24/2022
A: Hi Joey,

Yes, you can purchase a KIDD rifle from California. We do not offer the custom build on the KRG stock.

Q: Does threading barrel affect accuracy?

Asked by: Richard Davis - 5/18/2021
A: All builds are guaranteed to shoot .5in at 50 yards or better. This includes our threaded barrels. However, in a bench rest situation/competition we wouldn't advise threading or fluting the barrel because it can affect your accuracy.

Q: If I order a supergrade with the magpul stock, would it be possible to order a chassis to fit it at a later date and still have the proper milling for the rear tang and barrel installation holes that is needed for the supergrade barrel swaps? Also, would it be possible to order the chassis first and order the magpul stock later with these modifications (assuming I provide proof of purchase for the original rifle)? Thank you in advance for your time.

Asked by: William - 9/7/2020
A: You would need to purchase the Supergrade Premium Rifle so that the action can be bedded to the Magpul stock. The Chassis can then be purchased separately and will fit your Supergrade action without any modifications.

Q: I was looking to do a full out Steel Challenge build, Threaded barrel end with cap and extra muzzle device for possible use later. extended mag release is not necessary for me, I do not completely understand the optional MOA optic base pads,Not sure if i would continue with the C-More or switch to a lower profile Vortex sight. and I would definitely be looking for the lightest reliable single stage trigger possible. Can you recommend a build parts list, pricing and lead time?

Q: Regarding the Supergrade barrel interchange. IF zero at 100 yds, will the swap maintain zero?

Asked by: Larry - 8/28/2018
A: We recommend when changing a major component of the rifle to always re-zero the rifle. It should be close to zero but it is always best to double check in order to get the best accuracy possible

Q: I'm interested in this rifle and have a couple of questions. 1. Can the action be removed from the stock to access the trigger for cleaning? 2. Can the barrel be cleaned from the breech end with the rear tang? Thanks!

Asked by: Haley - 6/26/2018
A: The complete action can be removed from the stock by removing the rear tang screw as well as the takedown screw so that you can clean the internal parts as well as the trigger unit. You can clean the barrel from the breech by either removing the barrel from the receiver or using the rear cleaning hole at the back of the receiver. To access this hole you will need to remove the rear tang.

Q: I'm considering a Supergrade for bench rest target shooting. Does the threaded barrel with muzzle brake help or hurt accuracy? Was thinking of the 20" polished barrel with brake. Thanks.

Asked by: Dan - 6/8/2018
A: Threading the barrel with a muzzle brake is a cosmetic upgrade. It will not help with the accuracy of the barrel. The 20 inch barrel is our most accurate barrel.
