Q: I shoot a 10/22 in Steel Challenge. I’d like to get a lighter barrel, but I’m not looking for a super accuracy. Reliability is more important when you shoot steel. Do you have a light barrel with a sporting chamber? I need a barrel that can handle a broad range of ammo. Thanks, Tom

Asked by: Tom G - 8/12/2019
A: Our Steel Challenge shooters love our Ultra Lightweight Barrel. Perfect weight for them and ammo hasn't been an issue.

Q: For shooting mostly offhand target shooting and some bench shooting using 40 grain copper plated high velocity rounds (1200 - 1400 FPS). Would I be better off with 16.5 or 18 inch barrel?

Asked by: Mike - 4/9/2019
A: Our 18 inch barrels balance out the rifle very evenly for a comfortable feel. The 16.5 inch barrels will bring the weight in towards your body making it easier for those with less upper body strength to comfortably hold position. Keep this in mind, when you focus on where you want the weight distributed on the rifle.

Q: Is the barrel breach face, (the part that the bolt slams into), steel or aluminum? If Aluminum, have you ever heard or seen where the aluminum gets peened or deformed in any way, and if so could that prevent someone removing the barrel in the future. What about the liner separating from the sleeve, any danger of that? Thank you.

Asked by: wiprwil - 1/29/2019
A: The breach face is stainless steel so there is no need to worry about the barrel being damaged. The sleeve is secure and will not detach from the barrel.

Q: I have a stock that was cut for a Kidd bull barrel but switched to a new stock. Now I want to build a new Kidd setup and was wondering if the sleeved bull barrel is .920 the whole length or just the first couple of inches as you description says? I need to fit in the channel that was already cut for the stock and don't necessarily want to go back to the heavier .920 bull barrel again.

Asked by: Mark - 7/3/2016
A: This barrel is .870" for the length of the sleeve. The .920" diameter is 2" in length starting from the extension. This barrel does need a bull barrel channeled stock. Good shooting! KIDD

Q: If you choose just the "16.5 Black" option is the barrel still threaded? Or do you have to choose the option with the thread protector or Kidd muzzle brake to get the threaded barrel? I have a muzzle brake I just need a threaded barrel.

Asked by: Carl Ross - 5/24/2016
A: Hi Carl, Thank you for your interest in our barrel. In order to receive a threaded barrel the barrel must be ordered with either a threaded cap or a muzzle brake. I understand your dilemma regarding the extra charge. But if it makes you feel any better the majority of the charge is for the threading and not for the thread protector. After threading the end of a barrel we must protect the threads in some manner. Good shooting! KIDD

Q: Building a Zombie gun from an old 10-22. I have thrown everything away except the receiver housing. Have replaced everything with your parts. So it's going to have the Hogue over mold stock and nikon scope. So was thinking of the 16" ultra light or maybe the 18" lightweight. Big difference in price for the two inches. is the 18" still a better option for me?

Asked by: Gary Adams - 5/6/2016
A: For a zombie rifle, accuracy if very important. The light weight barrel is guaranteed to group 1/2" at 50 yards. So this would be my pick. Good shooting! KIDD
