Q:What is the difference between the KIDD-TG2-B-RC-X and the 10 models of the two stage trigger? Is the former model available with black body and trigger?
Asked by: Manuel

A: Hi Manuel,
Thank you for contacting us with your question. The following sku is usually found on ebay so that we can distinguish between the several different options available on our Two Stage Trigger.

TG2 = Two Stage Trigger B = Black RC= Red Curved Blade X = Extended Magazine Release Lever
Hope this helps.

Q:I have one of your barrels on a factory Ruger 10/22 reciever I bought and installed a Hornet single stage trigger that failed to reset on me today.
Will your target trigger reset using Eley Tenex ammo? I prefer a 2 stage as used in my M14's...
Thanks,

Q:When is preferable to have a straight trigger versus a curved? What are the advantages of each shape? Thanks.
Asked by: Jack Broadhurst
- 11/7/2016
A: The straight trigger replaced the standard curved trigger nicely and feels particularly good with a pistol grip or thumbhole style stock. We recommend that if you use a sporter style stock that you stick with the standard curved trigger. Good Shooting-KIDD

Q:Can these two stage triggers be dry fired without damage and/or snap caps?
Asked by: Don Mousseau
- 7/30/2016
A: For trigger control practice we dry fire our rifles. The only detriment to the two stage trigger related to dry firing, is when the unit is dry fired out of the rifle and the power of the hammer is not absorbed by the bolt. Good shooting! KIDD

Q:once the last round is fired does the bolt stay open and can you just pull it back and release it or will I have to still use the bolt release that the Rugger 10/22 has?
Asked by: Jlav
- 7/5/2016
A: Hi Jlav, Thank you for your interest in our two stage. We don't have the automatic bolt hold open though the trigger comes standard with the auto bolt release. Which means that the bolt will go forward when you pull back on the bolt handle without the extra step of fiddling with the bolt hold open. Good shooting! KIDD

Q:For my Ruger 10-22 Im not sure what the benefits are between the single stage trigger and the two stage trigger. when would each one be a benefit?
Asked by: JBW
- 6/2/2016
A: Hi John, I believe either trigger would be beneficial. Both our single stage and two stage are complete drop-in units and require no assembling or disassembling of the trigger for tuning. They are both adjustable for pull weight that is initially set by KIDD but can be adjusted later. By definition a single stage trigger design is supposed to break without travel when pressure is applied to it. The KIDD single stage has a fantastic break, it is clean, crisp, and repeatable. Our single stage pull weight is adjustable from 1.5 lbs to 5 lbs with the turn of a set screw. Our two stage is adjustable from 6 oz to 2.5 lbs with the turn of a set screw along with a few other adjustments that are not normally tuned. In a two stage trigger there is travel or take up giving the customer the ability to have such a light trigger in an autoloader. In the KIDD two stage there is a very smooth 1/4 inch take up that the shooter can take up and then release if conditions are not right to take the shot. After taking up the 1st stage the shooter will feel a slight increase of pressure this is the 2nd stage, or breaking stage. Essentially, at the end of the 1st stage your trigger is now a single stage so only pressure and not travel is required to break the shot. So to give a comparative example of the difference, if both trigger pull weights were set at 2 lbs, the full 2 lbs would break on the single stage after the 2 pounds of pressure was applied to the blade. In a two stage this weight is distributed over the 1st and 2nd stages. One pound would be broken at the shot after 1lb was taken up on the 1st stage. This creates an advantage for the shooter as the shot is broken with half the weight on the break resulting in less disruption of the sights. Good shooting! KIDD

Q:I am trying to replicate the two stage biathlon trigger on an Anschutz Biathlon Rifle. The minimum weight for the 2nd stage is 500g, or about 20 oz.
Can you adjust your two stage trigger for absolute minimum weight first stage and ~20oz 2nd stage?
Asked by: wayne peterson
- 3/12/2016
A: We can do a 1 1/4 on the 1st and 2nd stage but there is a required minimum ration between the two stages and it is not possible to have nothing on the 1st and 20oz on the 2nd. Good shooting! KIDD
