Q: have a hunter x 22 stock want to put a rear tang reciver on it, can it be done?
A: Yes, it works well! We have a personal rifle with this set up and plan to sell rifles on the stock with rear tangs installed. Good shooting! KIDD
Q: I would like to purchase a KIDD receiver with Rear Tang. Would you guys do the custom stock work if I shipped you the stock? The stock is a butler creek folding stock cut down for an SBR build. I appreciate your time.
A: We do not do custom stock work on customers stocks. We have machinist instructions for inletting the rear tang into your stock below:
The tool that you will need is 1/2". After measuring the part give (+) .030 on the Z axis and (+) .005 on the x & y axis. Good shooting! KIDD
Q: 1. Must you remove the rear tang to clean the gun from the breach? Not a deal killer, just curious.
2. Will this work on a Boyd's Evolution stock? On the Evolution stock, there is a screw that appears to penetrate into the pistol grip, perhaps for reinforcement. It looks like it would interfere with machining out the hole for the escutcheon.
A: Hi Tom, In order to clean the breech with a rod the rear tang would need to be removed. I own a rifle with our rear tang installed on a Boyd's Evo, and the screw was not an issue. But as I recall it was close and mine was build a good 5 years ago. Good shooting! KIDD
Q: Are there any provisions to fit this tang on a factory Ruger receiver? I have a takedown in a Hogue thumbhole stock that needs extra bedding. If I send the receiver in, could you do the work?
A: We don't have any instructions for adding our rear tang to any other receiver besides our KIDD receiver. We will not be able to do custom work on other receivers. Good shooting! KIDD
Q: Hi, what spec is the screw that is used to secure the rear-tang to the stock, since I must have a bad screw that just wont tighten. The screw-threads make contact but it just wont stop?
A: Hi Phong, The screw is 1/4-20. That is strange that it won't tighten, any chance your escutcheon has come loose from the bedding? Good shooting! KIDD
Q: Do you know if the Hoque overmolded stocks can be altered to work with the Receiver Rear Tang attachment?
A: Yes, it works well! We have a personal rifle with this set up. Good shooting! KIDD
Q: I am using a Kidd Tactical chassis. Is there a recommended torx tightness for the screws' tightness to the receiver and the one to the stock?
A: We recommend 10in lbs to secure the action into the stock as well as the tang screw.
Q: Will that extension fit the standard Ruger receiver?
A: The KIDD tang is not compatible with the factory receiver.
Q: Can you ship the rear tang to Canada?
A: We do not ship internationally at this time. Please visit our international sales link: https://www.coolguyguns.com/-iInternational-Salesi_ep_44-1.html
Q: Instructions call for a 1/2" bit. Tang is .5315 wide or 17/32". Has there been a change to the dimensions of the rear tang? Thanks.
A: There has not been a change in the dimensions of the rear tang. The Instructions provided are correct.
Q: Can this be used with the KRG bravo 10/22 stock without modifications to the product or the stock?
A: The KRG stock will accept the KIDD Rear tang however you will need to make sure to purchase the screw needed from KRG.
Q: Does this work on Volquartsen actions? I assume the barrel needs to come off to cut the action for the tang?
A: We only recommend our tang for KIDD receivers.
Is there any chance to get such a Rear Tang in Black in the next time ?
Greetings from Germany
A: We offer the tang in black or silver. Good Shooting-Shalee
Q: Do you ever offer milling of other receivers at your shop for the tang? I have two tactical innovations elite22 receivers I want to add your tang to. Thanks.
A: We do not offer this service.
Q: Do you sell just the attachment screw? The one that goes through the tang attachment to the stock.
A: Please give us a call and our sales team can help you.
