I'm working on my first custom 10/22 build from scratch. I've always known about Kidd and their reputation is unsurpassed. The parts I[ve received from Kid have lived up to the reputation. Top notch, quality craftamanship. This tang attachment only took about an hour to install with my drill press and made a huge difference in the fit and feel of the receiver in the stock. You just cant go wrong wth Kidd parts.

great for added stability
i put this tang on my kidd receiver. i will be mounting the barreled action in a babinga stock. the stock maker said that with this tang bedded into the stock the action will be rock solid. having the added second take down could only make the rifle a better shooting platform. it fit my KIDD receiver like a hand into a fitted glove! the quality of KIDD products is world class.

I would like to purchase a KIDD receiver with Rear Tang. Would you guys do the custom stock work if I shipped you the stock? The stock is a butler creek folding stock cut down for an SBR build. I appreciate your time.

Q:
1. Must you remove the rear tang to clean the gun from the breach? Not a deal killer, just curious. 2. Will this work on a Boyd's Evolution stock? On the Evolution stock, there is a screw that appears to penetrate into the pistol grip, perhaps for reinforcement. It looks like it would interfere with machining out the hole for the escutcheon.

A:
Hi Tom, In order to clean the breech with a rod the rear tang would need to be removed. I own a rifle with our rear tang installed on a Boyd's Evo, and the screw was not an issue. But as I recall it was close and mine was build a good 5 years ago. Good shooting! KIDD

Q:
Are there any provisions to fit this tang on a factory Ruger receiver? I have a takedown in a Hogue thumbhole stock that needs extra bedding. If I send the receiver in, could you do the work?
Asked by:
David

A:
We don't have any instructions for adding our rear tang to any other receiver besides our KIDD receiver. We will not be able to do custom work on other receivers. Good shooting! KIDD

Q:
Hi, what spec is the screw that is used to secure the rear-tang to the stock, since I must have a bad screw that just wont tighten. The screw-threads make contact but it just wont stop?
Asked by:
Phong
- 8/6/2016
A:
Hi Phong, The screw is 1/4-20. That is strange that it won't tighten, any chance your escutcheon has come loose from the bedding? Good shooting! KIDD
