Aftermarket Replacement Trigger Unit for the 10/22®
Easy Upgrade
Improve your Accuracy with a Great Breaking Trigger
Great new look!
Experience the premium manufacturing of Kidd Innovative Design's Single Stage Drop-in Trigger Unit. This quick upgrade will give you a superior break without any needed gunsmithing to install. This aftermarket 10/22® trigger is designed to adjust from 1 1/2 pounds to 5 pounds with the turn of a screw. It comes standard in a matte glare free finish silver or black anodized aluminum with our redesigned
auto bolt release
and interchangeable magazine lever system.
Our single stage trigger guard is CNC machined from billet to Tony's specifications. Always following the KIDD Quality of closely held tolerances enabling the cleanest breaking single stage in the industry.
How is this different from our two stage? This single stage more closely matched the traditional function of the factory trigger except with a
refined feel
and
adjustability
. Our two stage has a travel stage where the trigger blade moves rearward for about a 1/4 of an inch before it comes to the breaking stage. Because of this travel stage our two stage trigger is able to be reduced in weight to only 6 ounces versus the lowest weight for our single stage is 1 1/2 pounds.
Note from sales department: Buy one of each, you will love them both!
Drop-in exceptions to the rule:
Our single stage trigger drops into nearly all 10/22® models with little exception. If this trigger is going in a SR-22® please let us know so that we may remove a small amount of material from the rear tang. With our recently updated look, we have slimmed down the rear of the trigger guard so that it now fits without modification into the pistol grip style stocks that engulf the rear of the trigger guard giving the rifle that handgun appearance around the trigger area.
All KIDD triggers require a signature upon delivery.

Best Single Stage Trigger Bar None
I have to say I think this 1-stage trigger set at 1.5 lbs is the absolute perfect trigger for the 10/22. No creep whatsoever. Break is a tiny glass rod 'snap' and overtravel is almost nothing, but enough for a proper reset ... and if you want you can adjust it. I didn't. I can't imagine doing any better than this and don't want to screw it up trying. Just ordered my second trigger for another rifle. I've always used 2-stage match triggers but for the 10/22 this is my preferred option.

If I knew then what I know now...
I just recently decided to upgrade a 10/22, and then a second one. Not knowing that much, I ran across some posts, and another manufacturer was mentioned. I bought a single stage trigger from them via Midway and was pretty impressed with the improvement. In the meantime while searching Amazon for 10/22 parts I found Kidd, so I did some more research and found that many like Kidd's parts more to much more than the rest. So, when I decided to buy and upgrade a second 10/22 I decided to buy a Kidd single stage trigger. I figured it couldn't be THAT much better, but was I ever wrong. I am seriously thinking about trashing the, so-called competitor's trigger and buying a second Kidd trigger... I guess you could say that the Ruger trigger works, and the competitors trigger is good, but the Kidd trigger is awesome! If you are thinking about buying a single stage trigger, I would urge you not to make my mistake, buy a Kidd trigger and once you get it, you'll know that there are none better. I seriously doubt that any match it, but there is no way to better it.

SO Amazing
From the second you take this trigger out of the package, you're in awe of it's quality. It looks and feels extremely well built. The machining is flawless. I am a novice and installed this myself in under three minutes. Well worth it.

Kidd Single Stage Trigger
Upgrading an old 10/22 I've had for years. I'm not a competitor, just a plinker (use for fun & prairie dog control). ATI TacLite stock; Keystone Arms Bull Fluted Barrel; Redfield Battleone Tac.22 Scope; Kidd Single Stage Trigger. Since I'm not a competitive shooter, I got the Kidd Single Stage trigger. All I can say is WOW! Took my new build to the range, sighted the scope, and proceeded to shoot the center out of 2 paper targets at 75yds. My goal for this visit was to sight in the scope and send a bunch of rounds down range. I wasn't interested in accuracy, but wanted to shake-down the new build. I ran ~250 rounds of various hi-vel 22LR HP & RN ammo. The Kidd SS trigger was incredible. Once the scope was dialed in, I began to focus on the trigger performance. I ordered mine with a factory set 2.5lbs pull. For me this was just right. The pull was crisp and release/pull was consistent. When rapid firing, I was able to get back on target and send the next round without even thinking about the trigger pull. Once I got the release mentally calibrated, each successive round seemed automatic. As I re-centered the cross hairs and saw I was on-target the next round was down range. I can only imagine what the 2 stage trigger feels like.

Simply Amazing
Bottom line: the most amazing trigger I have ever experienced in a Ruger 10/22. I replaced my polymer housing with a Volquartsen hammer/trigger kit with this unit. My wife's 10/22 has the Volq in an aluminum housing, and it's pretty good. In my polymer housing, the Volq isn't bad, but still more slop/creep than I like. So I wanted to get a metal housing - I recently read an article about how good the Kidd is, and since it cost less than the Volq I figured I would try it. I am SO GLAD I did. This Kidd trigger unit is a thing of beauty to look at, but even better to shoot. I am so impressed I just ordered the Kidd bolt/guide spring and charger handle.

recently finished a 10/22 build and finally got to shoot the rifle. Used a Kidd single stage trigger, both and all the pins. Used a TS barrel, should have used a kidd. All I can say is, the Kidd parts are awesome. Good to see quality work still made in the USA

just do it
Upon receiving and installing this trigger, I became furious. Why hadn't I done this sooner? I've tried drop in units from a couple other brands on my 10/22s before trying a Kidd, and this thing puts them all to shame. It makes your Ruger instantly go from a clunky, sloppy feel to a magnificent, precise one. Stop reading reviews and just order one. You'll be angry you waited too!

Step up and get the best...
All I can say is WOW. I took a gamble ordering this trigger never seeing any of KIDD stuff in real life, glad I did. This trigger is a piece of artwork, quality, function, and ergonomics and did I say a trigger pull that is crisp with zero creep. Best after market 10/22 single stage trigger on the Market period!

Kidd single stage triggers are #1
Put one of these into a stripped Ruger 10/22 build along with all Kidd internals. Thing breaks like a glass rod. Kidd triggers by far my favorite trigger. I had it set from Kidd at 3.0#, which is just right for my application, night vermin control, suppressed. First year using a semi-auto, coming from a bolt 22lr gun. Wanted the fast 2nd shoot to get the job done. Kidd triggers are the answer.

Q:
Hi, what's the difference between your single and two stage triggers?...thanks
Asked by:
peter
- 12/28/2015
A:
Thank you for your interest in our products. Both our single stage and two stage are complete drop-in units and require no assembling or disassembling of the trigger for tuning. They are both adjustable for pull weight that is initially set by KIDD but can be adjusted later. A single stage trigger is supposed to break without travel when pressure is applied to it. The KIDD single stage has a fantastic break, it is clean, crisp, and repeatable. Our single stage pull weight is adjustable from 1.5 lbs to 5 lbs with the turn of a set screw.
Our two stage is adjustable from 6 oz to 2.5 lbs also with the turn of a set screw along with a few other adjustments that are not normally tuned. In a two stage trigger there is travel or take up giving the customer the ability to have such a light trigger in an autoloader. In the KIDD two stage there is a very smooth 1/4 inch take up that the shooter can take up and then release if conditions are not right to take the shot. After taking up the 1st stage the shooter will feel a slight increase of pressure this is the 2nd stage, or breaking stage. Essentially, at the end of the 1st stage your trigger is now a single stage so only pressure and not travel is required to break the shot.
So to give a comparative example of the difference, if both trigger pull weights were set at 2 lbs, the full 2 lbs would break on the single stage after the 2 pounds of pressure was applied to the blade. In a two stage this weight is distributed over the 1st and 2nd stages. One pound would be broken at the shot after 1lb was taken up on the 1st stage. This creates an advantage for the shooter as the shot is broken with half the weight on the break resulting in less disruption of the sights. Good shooting! KIDD

The description says it is adjustable but why does it give an option to select the weight? Once I select the weight, can I actually adjust to a different weight?
Asked by:

You must choose a weight for the trigger to be set at before it leaves our facility. Once you receive the trigger you are able to adjust the pull weight with a turn of a screw. Good Shooting-KIDD

Can you take the single stage trigger down to less than 2 ounces? Looking for something like a Jewell pull.
Asked by:
Dave
- 12/20/2015
A:
Thank you for your interest in our single stage, but for a trigger with a pull weight in the ounces, you should look at our two stage trigger. The pull weight can go down to as low as 3 ounces on the first stage and 3 ounces on the second (or breaking stage). It is also adjustable up to 2.5 lbs. Good shooting! KIDD

Q:
Is the low flat mag release flush with the trigger group like the early 10/22's?
Asked by:
Daniel Hughes
- 12/13/2015
A:
Hi Daniel, Thank you for your interest. Our sportsman release lever is similar, but has just a slight wedge shape to it. So it is flat enough to allow the carrier ease of mind that the magazine will not accidentally be dropped but yet has a slight wedge so your finger doesn't have to poke into the trigger guard to release the magazine. This is even more important in the winter months when gloves are often a consideration. Good shooting! KIDD

Q:
I've owned several standard 10/22's over the yr's and never had any problems. Just bought a new 10/22 an first time shooting it the mag would fall out. Different (factory) mag tried but would just drop out. Ever heard of this happening. It's a brand new gun. Would your single stage drop in trigger cure my dropped mag's?
Asked by:
James Winter
- 6/29/2016
A:
Thank you for your interest in our trigger. This isn't a normal problem but to further get to the crux of the problem, I would check the spring loaded magazine plunger, the magazine, and the receiver pin hole placements in both the receiver and trigger unit to see if the trigger unit is forced too far forward. If the problem is in the trigger or plunger isn't holding properly then I would expect that a new trigger unit will fix it. If you need more assistance please give us a call at 830-557-5433. Q:
I noticed that your "Trigger Job" kit looks like it has a travel stop adjustment on the trigger blade, but I don't see the travel stop adjustment on the drop in unit? Is this adjustment inside the housing, or can this not be adjusted on the drop in unit?
Asked by:
ARmada59
- 5/13/2016
A:
The travel stop is adjustable on our KIDD Single Stage, but we use our plunger in the rear of the trigger to adjust this rather than a screw in the trigger blade. The plunger behind the trigger blade has a spring center and a solid outer rim case. When the blade is pulled back collapsing the spring the blade will be stopped by the solid outer rim case, thus acting as a travel stop. Good shooting! KIDD
