Upgrade to a Stainless Steel magazine latch plunger for your 10/22®
Hardened stainless steel with standard spring included
Better magazine hold
Replace your factory magazine latch plunger with a new KIDD stainless steel version. With upgraded geometry to both hold your magazine more stable and let it release easier.
Installation instructions:
Push out the magazine lever pin and pull the magazine lever down while slightly pressing in on the magazine latch plunger. Once the magazine lever is out the plunger will pull out of the trigger guard completely. After slipping the magazine latch plunger into the spring slide it in the trigger guard. While holding the plunger slightly depressed, put the magazine lever back in the trigger making sure it fits in the cut out of the plunger properly, then put the pin back in the magazine lever to hold everything in place. Function the magazine lever to make sure that the plunger is retracting as it is supposed to retract.

Mr
This along good with the higher tension spring fixed my loose magazine issue in my factory rifle. Gun now works the way it should. It is not listed in ad but this is perfect fit in this rifle.

Powell Plinker
I wanted to up the reliability of my 10/22 Take Down Lite. I had experienced feed issues from the factory plunger and this seemed like a worthy upgrade. I purchased the stronger as well and installed it with the new KIDD plunger. It was easy to install. I found the magazine actually is easier to install with the new parts and not harder to press down like you would expect with a stronger spring. I also added the new extended Kidd mag release lever.

Great piece!
I wanted to up the reliability of my stock 10/22. I've heard of occasional feed issues from the factory plunger and this seemed like a cheap upgrade. I bought it with the stronger spring as well. Very easy to install. I was surprised that the magazine actually feels easier to install with the new pieces and not harder to press down like you would expect with a stronger spring. I guess the new pieces just slide together better.

Improvement
This is a step up from the factory version it does help with factory magazines it could be because of the stiffer spring but is worth the investment of a few dollars.Remember Aim small Miss small!!

Great quality
I didn't really notice a difference in how firmly this holds the magazine in compared to the stock plunger on my rifle, but the KIDD plunger has a smoother feel to it when releasing the magazines over stock and it is very well made. Shipping was very fast!

The Kidd magazine latch plunger is a must have upgrade
I stumbled upon Kidd products by accident. I was looking for a product from another company. But, after reading reviews about Kidd products, and since they're made in Texas, I decided to give them a try. I couldn't be happier with my decision. I bought the Magazine Latch Plunger part#149. The problem of magazines hanging up in my Ruger take-down was immediately resolved. Now, the magazine drops freely into my hand, when I push the mag release. I also purchased the Auto Bolt Release part#55, on the same order. Now, my rifle, in my opinion, functions as it should have in the first place. These two items, solved the most aggravating aspects, of the operation of the Ruger 10-22 rifle. There's only one problem. I own several Ruger 10-22's and I won't be happy until they're all upgraded.

Q:
Is the stainless steel magazine latch plunger included in the Kidd single stage trigger? The plunger in my Kids 2 stage trigger is black in color so do I need to order the stainless steel plunger in the 2 stage.
Asked by:
Dan
- 6/2/2016
A:
Hi Dan, Thank you for your purchase. Both our single stage and two stage now have our stainless steel plunger in them. We don't normally sell the two stage plunger separately, but if you are having problems with your magazine plunger please call us at 830-557-5433 and we will get you fixed up. Good shooting! KIDD

Q:
WILL THE LATCH PLUNGER AND SPRING ELIMINATE MAGAZINE "WOBBLE" AND ELIMINATE JAMS IN THE 10/22 RUGER?
Asked by:
PATRICK MAHONEY
- 2/17/2021
A:
Hi Patrick,
Thank you for your interest in our Kidd magazine latch plunger. If the cause of magazine wobble and jamming is an undersized plunger and weak plunger spring than an aftermarket properly fitting plunger will fix the problem.
Good shooting!
Mary Kidd
