Upgrade accessory for the 10/22® bolt
Achieve consistent ignition
Positive rim indentation
Properly hardened steel
Precision ground and wire EDM cut holding 0.0001" tolerance
Eliminate irregular rim indentation due to a blunt or improper firing pin. Our KIDD Firing Pin made from a wire EDM machine replaces the tool and die process of stamping out the factory firing pin. This difference in production results is a much higher quality part for your rifle.
Installation Note:
This compression spring is directional in nature due to one end being conical. When installing the spring be sure to keep the larger end of the spring toward the bolt face and the smaller end (conical) towards the rear.
Packaging includes:
firing pin
spring

Dude
I bought this firing pin expecting use to put it in the factory bolt, well that didn't go so well When Ruger stamped the hold down mark they put it in the wrong place on the bolt so the Kidd firing pin won't fit and work properly, I called them and they said Okay to send it back and we will credit you, even after the time they allowed for returns, All the other parts were easy to install and now I'm saving for that Kidd bolt to replace the crappy factory one. Thanks!!

Well made and worth it
Installed this firing pin in my new 10/22. Definitely noticed the difference in quality. Factory firing pin was rounded and did not have a well defined primer striking edge (...this was a new factory firing pin). The exacting tolerances of the Kidd pin are impressive. I expect years of dutiful service from my 10/22.

All the difference in the world
In February my youngest son turned 18 and bought his first rife in his name, a Ruger 10/22 take down. Beautiful gun but from day one firing was inconsistent at best. He was seeing a 8-12% FTF rate no matter what ammo he tried. The failed rounds had barely a nick on them from the firing pin. Pulled the OE pin and replaced with a KIDD firing pin which took less than 10 minutes. Have not had a single FTF in last 2,000 rounds. Every casing has a nice solid dent from the firing pin.

Owner
Great bolt, I installed it and went to the range. This rifle has a Kidd trigger, wedge and bolt. not yet glassed, Butler Creek in a Boyd's thumbhole stock. Ammo that would not shoot 10 rounds under a dime at 50 yds. before will do so now. the biggest problem is figuring out witch products made the most improvement?

Inconsistant ignition is a real 10/22 issue. The stock pin fits sloppy and is prone to bounce within the bolt. This Kidd pin is recontoured and at least for me...solved these problems. I matched the pin, extractor, barrel and buffer for my build and the new accuracy is outstanding.

A:
Hi BeachsideDom,
The KIDD firing pin is a drop in upgrade and should not require any gunsmithing. Good Shooting-Shalee
