Upgrade the bolt handle assembly in the 10/22®
Slick guide rod for easy racking
Interchangeable tuning springs:(white=standard, red=10% increase, green=10% decrease)
Handle length: 1 3/4", Weight: .3oz, Finish: anodized aluminum
This great upgrade kit for your 10/22®
will provide you with a comfortable bolt handle to grasp, a "super slick" guide rod, and the ability to tune the recoil of your rifle with our interchangeable springs. Bolt handle length is 1 3/4", which is 1/4" longer than the factory bolt handle giving greater clearance for the shooter's knuckles while racking the bolt.
The three tuning springs come in varying tensions for the ultimate in tuning capability. The standard tension spring will serve the shooter throughout most of the different ammunition velocities. But if, due to tolerance stacking or preferred ammunition the cycling of the action is out of sync, then the shooter has the capability to change the spring without using the more primitive and permanent method of cutting coils to tune a spring.
Precision ground guide rod is made from hardened tool steel and held to 2/10,000" tolerance throughout its entire length. The rod is nitride treated which gives its surface a 70C rockwell (harder than a file) surface hardness. Guaranteed the smoothest and slickest guide rod in the industry.
Packaging Includes:
bolt handle
guide rod
3 tuning springs
Installation instructions:
After removing the stock from the barreled action, remove the trigger and bolt stop. This will allow the needed clearance for the bolt to be removed along with the bolt handle assembly. After choosing your proper spring tension slip the bolt handle assembly in from the ejection port, placing the cone end of the rod into the containment hole in the receiver. Then fully compress the bolt handle assembly while placing the bolt on it. After the mating of the bolt handle and bolt, let off the containment allowing the bolt to go forward. Install the bolt stop pin (or upgrade with our bolt buffer), trigger and stock. The video above offers some of the finer installation points.

Mr
Been using Kidd charging handles, guide rods and spring sets in my 10/22 builds for at least 10 years. Put a "plinker" together out of spare parts I had laying around about a year ago and dropped in an old Ruger bolt guide rod that were in the bottom of the parts bin. The gun ran, but not great. About a month ago I got it out for the grandkids to shoot and while not as slow as a single shot, it certainly didn't run like a semi-auto should. Changes out the bolt and charging handle assembly with Kidd part and it runs great. Thanks for reminding be how much smoother the best guide rod, charging handle and spring set is then those of lesser quality.

absolutely perfect
The spring kit and charging handle are absolutely perfect for me and my Rifle. I own a fletcher rifle works 11/22 which features an open top receiver. Installation was a dream. And function test was so perfect! Looking forward to running the light spring with speed of smell subsonic ammo and suppressor now will let yall know how awesome it runs. For now subsonic ammunition going around 1000/fps are cycling the bolt with suppressor and standard spring and subsonic going at 900/fps require manual action but, the charging handle is much more forgiving than the skeletonized original.

Charging handle
Love the three rings, sure and positive grip. Protrudes just enough to give extra clearance when charging the chamber.

Right on point. Quality materials and solved my "sticky" open bolt release issue.

charging handle not long enough
I have very small hands and thought this would work for me, but I found a longer one from tandem cross. Still, I used the Kidd spring and rod. Just needed a longer handle.

shooter
This really smooths charging the 10 22 and bolt function. The guide rod is really slick, and the diameter matches the bolt handles. With most rods you will feel roughness and drag spots when you cock. Not the KIDD. Being able to adjust spring tension is excellent. We shoot all winter in Idaho. Using a light spring in low temperatures gives me good functioning. Then switch to regular spring in warmer conditions.
