Avoiding barrel droop — our engineering
Barrel droop is a result of poor barrel-to-receiver fit. KIDD eliminates this through a resistance-fit mortise and tenon joint, ensuring the tenon diameter is uniform and slightly oversized for a tight, secure engagement. The shoulder between the .920" diameter and tenon is machined as a precise step, not a ramp — providing full support and preventing tilt. When properly seated, the barrel remains perfectly aligned and stable. Once installed, v-block screws should be snug (~10 in-lb) — just enough to hold the barrel forward, not enough to distort alignment.
