Classic Fluted Target Rifle 5.0
Bought this to use in my club's informal bench rest matches. Semi's at 50 yards on the 40 shot A-51 target. Put my old Leupold BR24X scope on it, so close to 8 lbs total. The weight was a factor in my choice of gun. The other rifles in this class all were close to 5 lbs. For bench rest weight is good. Using Lapua centre X, I believe the rifle could hold the x ring for a top notch shooter. Unfortunately, that is not me. Still, I managed a 391-17X which made me happy. Out of the box, the rifle was almost exactly what I wanted, I added Kidd's speed/long lever magazine release and also bought the 10 and 20 MOA scope bases. Haven't tried the scope bases yet as the 0 works for both 50 and 100 yards. These three items are unique to Kidd rifles so you must use the Kidd items. I also added a higher cheek riser for the stock. The riser that came on the rifle was too low, so I bought (from the stock manufacturer) the .25" and .50" set. There is also a .75" riser but I don't think it will be necessary. They only sells them as sets (25/50 and 50/75). I have the .25 riser on the rifle now and it feels much better. Will try the .50 also to see how it feels. The risers are very easy and quick to swap out. With these changes, the rifle is perfect for me. The workmanship on the rifle is beyond reproach. Appearance is always subjective, but I think its gorgeous. If I didn't already have one and read this review, I'd get my order in right away.

Been shooting moving targets and still since age 5. These days I shoot a variety of 22 rifles and pistols. From highly modified to factory Anschutz. This Classic Target is now my number three rifle in the collection. Reason being it's ability to hang with my rifles in accuracy that are a great deal more expensive. It's no Anschutz but is capable of shooting .270" to .290" 5 shot groups at 50 yards consistently using high quality ammo. This is the most accurate semi-auto that I've ever shot and Lord knows I've had the pleasure of shooting a lot of fine rifles in my 59 years of shooting. For the person that wants one really fine 22, this is the ticket! Add a suppressor as I do and the pleasure steps up a few notches. In closing, you want be dissatisfied with this piece I promise! Thanks Kidd for the privilege of owning one of your fine Irons!

What a Rifle!!!!
I got this rifle a few weeks ago and it is the bomb. I put a Mueller APV 4.5-14x40 silver scope on it and it shoots wonderfully. I bore sighted it and the first 5 rounds were dead-on at 25 yards. Went out to 50 yards with minimum adjustments, I could put a dime on the group and dead on. What a rifle!!!! Great Job!!!
