Avoiding barrel droop — our engineering
KIDD’s latest innovation replaces the threaded Supergrade system with a
next-generation slip-fit system designed around a 1 7/8" extended barrel extension. This length
dramatically improves harmonics, rigidity, and alignment, while still allowing
the shooter to slide the barrel in and out of the receiver effortlessly.
Our three-part stabilizing interface—indexing flat, clamping V, and clamping flat—creates
a consistent, repeatable lock-up. The indexing flat ensures perfect timing of
the barrel so the extractor cut aligns every time. Two 1/8" hex head screws lock the barrel into the
reinforced receiver with stability that rivals threaded systems, while offering
the freedom to swap any KIDD Supergrade barrel.
Each Supergrade chassis is inletted for the rear tang, adding a secondary anchor
point for improved rigidity. The chassis also includes strategically engineered
access points so you can remove and install barrels without taking the action out of the stock. Clear the
chamber, remove the magazine, loosen the clamping screws, slide out the barrel,
insert the next one with slight downward pressure and rotation, align via the
indexing flat, and torque to 26.6 in-lb
using KIDD’s locking torque driver.
KIDD transitioned from the older threaded
Supergrade to this slip-fit system to restore true modularity—the heart of the
10/22® platform—without sacrificing accuracy or stability. Now shooters get
both: Supergrade precision and full barrel interchangeability.
The receiver includes an easy-access rear cleaning hole, plus
interchangeable scope bases in multiple MOA options for distance flexibility.
All base and tang interfaces are precision-matched for maximum rigidity and
repeatable accuracy.
