Q: Will your Kidd 22LR Bolt drop into a standard Ruger 10/22? What improvements would I expect to see? Thanks
A: This bolt should drop into a factory receiver. It has proper head spacing and firing pin protrusion to improve reliability. The "pinned" firing pin gives you consistent ignition . We radiused and polished the rear of the bolt for improved cycling and it comes with our upgraded firing pin and extractor. Good Shooting-Shalee
Q: Does it come with firing pin an extractor?
A: Yes, our bolt comes with our firing pin and extractor installed. Good shooting! KIDD
Q: Does this come with guide rod and spring kit? If not, can I use Ruger stock one?
A: Hi Gary, Our bolt assembly comes complete with the firing pin and extractor but not with the guide rod, spring, and handle. The stock one can be used with our bolt. Good shooting! KIDD
Q: will this bolt fit/work in a stock 10/22 receiver? (just purchased new)
A: This bolt should drop into your factory receiver. Good Shooting-Shalee
Q: I m building a .22LR using all KIDD parts except for the barrel which will be a green mountain 20" bull barrel which I already have. When mating the barrel to the KIDD receiver do I need to check the headspace with a go - no go gauge? Or will the headspace be correct because of the bolt tolerance?
A: There is no need to "set" headspace as it is already build into our bolt. Regarding the mating of the barrel and receiver, use the shoulder of the barrel as your stopping point indicator. When the barrel shoulder is up against the receiver you should be good. Good shooting! KIDD
Q: Would the matte black finish ware off after cycling?
A: Thank you for your interest. We have our bolts covered in a finish that was developed initially to coat racing engines. So it doesn't ware off after cycling in an action. Good shooting! KIDD
Q: Will this bolt work with a 10/22 takedown?
A: Yes. Good shooting! KIDD
Q: Is there a specific lube or product you recommend for the bolt?
A: Hi Vinny, We sell some maintenance products that would be good for your bolt. Here is the link: http://www.coolguyguns.com/Maintenance-_c_12.html. Good shooting! KIDD
Q: Hello, are you guys still making the scalloped black bolts? I only see the silver ones? Thanks
A: We do not have black bolts at this time and we are not sure when we will have them again. Good shooting! KIDD
Q: Will bolt work with stock ruger receiver ? Take/down model
A: Yes, this bolt will work in the factory receiver. Good Shooting-Shalee
I have one of your bolt charging assemblies. With the stock bolt, it is kind of sloppy and the handle rubs on the receiver. If I purchase one of your bolts will it all fit tighter and stop that problem?
BTW, I just bought one of your single stage triggers and love it!!!
A: Thank you for your recent purchase. The KIDD bolt does have tighter tolerances so it will help take some of the slop out. Good Shooting-KIDD
Q: will your bolt fit my factory receiver?
A: Yes, the KIDD bolt will fit into a factory receiver. Good Shooting-KIDD
Q: Do you sell your extractor separately? I'm planning to purchase a trigger kit and want to upgrade my extractor as well, and would hate to have to buy a Volquartsen ;)
A: Hi Charles,
We do sell extractors. It is part #13. Good Shooting-KIDD
Q: Do you still offer a black coating on your bolts?
A: Hi James,
The black finish for KIDD bolts is now available. Good Shooting-Shalee
A: We do not have black bolts at this time. We do plan on offering them in the near future. Good Shooting-Shalee
Q: What headspace depth do you use on the bolt face recess of your bolts?
A: The head spacing on our bolt are .042
Q: Will it damage this bolt in any way to dry fire to practice? I know with the factory bolt it has a firing pin stop that wears out. So I am curious how your bolt holds up to dry fire?
A: You can dry fire the bolt as much as you would like.
Q: Do you sell a completed bolt for the 10-22 with all of the upgrades?
A: Our bolt comes fully assembled with the upgraded firing pin and extractor installed.
Q: I have a Ruger 10/22 Charger and wanted to know if your KIDD bolt will work with the Charger AND a Franklin Binary Trigger?
Your time and assistance is greatly appreciated.
A: Yes, it will work with that setup.
Q: Will this Bolt drop into a stock 10/22 Take Down? Thanks.
A: Yes, this bolt will work in that model.
Q: Will this go into the Ruger stock receiver and work well?
A: Yes, it will work great.
