Upgrade your Ruger® 10/22® with a 762 fluted blued chromoly bull
barrel that looks as good as it shoots.
What makes it special
Style + substance: The fluted profile is primarily cosmetic on a .22 rimfire, but it gives
your 10/22® a distinctive, high-end appearance while preserving the mass and
rigidity of a heavy .920" bull contour for more repeatable aim and
reduced harmonic variance.
Match-grade accuracy: Bored and rifled by Lothar Walther (Germany), finished and
hand-machined by Tony Kidd, and chambered with a proprietary reamer for
smooth feeding. Guaranteed ½" at 50 yards (5 shots).
Built for reliability: Our precision convex extractor slot maintains perfect extractor
alignment with the case rim to eliminate common extraction problems — a feature
that requires costly tooling and extremely tight tolerances.
Finish & threading: Black bead-blasted chromoly steel with a durable blued finish.
Bull-barrel profile — no muzzle threading.

Avoiding barrel droop — our
engineering
Barrel droop is prevented through precision fit and consistent tenon
geometry. We use a resistance fit mortise-and-tenon (the tenon is just
slightly larger than the receiver mortise) and hold the tenon diameter uniform
along its length so the barrel seats solidly. The shoulder between the .920"
diameter and the tenon is machined as a clean step — not a ramp — so the barrel
sits flush and fully supported against the receiver.
When the fit is correct, v-block screws only need to be snug (~10
in-lb): enough to prevent forward movement without distorting alignment.
Installation & break-in tips
- Remove paint/debris from the
receiver mortise before install.
- Apply a light anti-seize compound
to the tenon to ease installation (automotive anti-seize works well).
- Start the tenon into the mortise,
turn the rifle over, and gently tap the rear of the receiver with a rubber
mallet to seat. Align the extractor slot while installing.
- Run two magazines through
the barrel before evaluating groups; repeat when switching ammunition
brands.
- Keep the chamber clean but avoid
excessive bore scrubbing — over-cleaning can reduce accuracy. Typical bore
cleaning interval: ~500 rounds, depending on ammo.
